Next Generation Leadership

Swami Vivekanada has so rightfully said, "It is the coward and the fool who says, "This is fate". But it is the strong man who stands up and says, 'I will make my own fate'."

What Makes A Leader Truly Crafted For The Future?

No matter how volatile and uncertain your environment is, we all need leaders to wade us through the ambiguity. Only great leadership can bring about transformational change and they will face two profoundly difficult challenges – (i) Reigniting innovation such that it leads to the creation of cost-effective, tangible improvements in their respective fields (ii) Morphing the current organization structures into new forms that nurture collaboration, discovery, experimentation and development – and result in new business models.

As global organizations grapple with a more technologically intensive and complex agenda, progressive approaches to leadership development will have increasingly take precedence over traditional models.

  • Championing Leadership

Businesses should employ performance improvement opportunities within their organizations for learning – and avoid generic, off-the-shelf programs. They need to build deeper leadership qualities, not just functional skills, so leaders have the resilience and self-awareness to drive and sustain major change. They should shape a driving engine that integrates capability-building with the organization’s broader norms and management processes.

  • Leading From The Edge

The nature of organizations has changed, and the leaders they require in the future will be fundamentally different from those they require for today’s business demands. It is time to recreate leadership for the requirements of the modern organization, for an innovation economy, where the demands of leadership are to drive new forms of value creation.

  • Recreate Leadership Development

Accelerate priority projects, drive major turnarounds and continuously improve execution across the globe to prepare to respond to future challenges and opportunities. Leaders cannot be mass-produced. To be sustainable, any effort to develop leaders must be viewed as a business imperative that is deeply entwined with the organization’s talent and performance management processes, as well as with its broader vision, norms and strategy.

Essential traits:

  • Astute sense of self

  • Rapidly absorb, synthesize, organize & decipher information

  • Intellectual acuity to know what to keep, to destroy, to recreate

  • Inventor and experimenter

  • Know how to fail, understand it, learn from it and recover from it

  • Live with chaos and calm

What leadership means to me, Let me tell you whenever I step into my office – A hundred questions come at me, all waiting to be solved. My team – each person a hard worker – is eager to discuss them. You can see the spark in their eyes, ready to take on the world. So, I make time to sit with each person individually. We explore every big idea and resolve every concern. By the time I’m done, I experience my most treasured moment – Having gained a hundred fresh perspectives to grow our business. This is how we operate at Assiduus. Everyone is encouraged to think, question, and ask. Real leaders thrive on curiosity, not silence.
